You know, I don't think that rollover is so effective; the "click logo to go home" concept is so ubiqutious that I really don't see a need to explain it any further.

In fact, my first instinct was to mouse back off again to click the word "Home" (which of course disappeared).

Anyway, I like the new design, and when you read what technologies the developers use it seems a miracle the site is even mildly dynamic.

They've also updated the help page header and included a simple but effective rollover effect on the logo. http://bbc.co.uk/help/

I think how it works is if there is a news story published after the launch of the design the portal section gets the new design also.

Their CMS seems to keep old designs for ever and doesn't update old content with new designs. You can still find old stories with the last but one design.

As for my grammar, I'm blaming firefox for not having a grammar plugin and the spell checker for saying its is valid!

Hey, now I wasn't going to pull you up on your grammar, but it is very amusing that you have now used the other form of "its" incorrectly. I'm only writing this so that James doesn't look like a complete pedant!

Anyway, back OT. Have you noticed that the BBC internal news category pages e.g. "Business" are still 800px wide with a bit of whitespace to the right?

That's a bit lame!
