The Girls Brigade England and Wales have moved their membership database online, reducing workload at the HQ and enabling their staff to work more efficiently.

The Benefits of "Online"

The problem

GBEW Membership DatabaseLike many organisations the Girls Brigade England and Wales (GBEW) had relied upon old Access databases that had grown organically over the years. While in some circumstances these can be sufficient, in others, like for the GBEW, the result was messy and ultimately led to a loss of confidence in the data.

The solution

A new, clean user interface and robust underlying database gives GBEW their confidence back to use the data to its full potential.

The database structure was rethought, taking into account its evolution over the previous years, to give a database that supports the organisation's needs now, and into the future.

And here comes the magic...

The real benefits of the new online database will be realised in the coming months as the GBEW use it to conduct their annual membership census. Rather than months of data-entry at HQ, members themselves will update their details online, removing tens and possibly hundreds of wasted working days.

We think that's just wonderful.

About the Girls Brigade

About the Girls Brigade
The Girls’ Brigade (GB) is a Christian, international charity working alongside girls and young women of every background, ability and culture. With 100s of companies and 3000 company leaders around the country, they have their work cut out keeping track of them all.
"White October have provided us a great one stop service for the review and renewal of our membership database. We would certainly use them again for other projects in the future as the communication systems put in place to achieve the project were excellent."
Sue Cutting, Executive Director // The Girls' Brigade England and Wales
