We’re looking for motivated and experienced developers with a strong focus on web to join our talented team working on innovative products within small, multi-disciplined project teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial web experience (ideally Python, PHP or JavaScript, HTML/CSS) who is looking for that next challenge to drive their career forwards.

Alongside your core development responsibilities you will also have the opportunity to take an active role in all stages of product development, from initial idea generation, through prototyping and user validation, to eventual release and iterative improvement.

How we work

We are passionate about Agile delivery, and seek to continuously improve our processes to deliver maximum value to our clients.

We work with a range of clients, from small startups to big brands on projects that span from early prototypes through to large software builds.

The role

You'll play a critical role in delivering web solutions following lean, agile and continuous delivery principles. You will also have the support of our Tech Lead and Senior developers and a generous training and development programme so you can keep progressing your own skills and career.

Working in cross disciplinary teams of talented product strategists, UI/UX designers, project managers and fellow developers you must have a strong desire to improve yourself and learn from others, and a willingness to participate in and contribute to our culture of learning and sharing.

This is a full-time role in our Oxford office.

Your responsibilities

  • Delivering high quality native mobile and web solutions.
  • Accurate and consistent reporting on project status.
  • Helping create a positive working environment based on our culture of being collaborative, open, flexible and social.
  • Building strong relationships both internally with our teams and externally with your clients.
  • Sharing what you learn with the wider Digital Community, through blogging, conferences and meetups.

Our ideal candidate

A developer with a demonstrable talent for web software development, and a proven ability to architect and deliver projects working as part of a team.

We'll expect you to be an excellent communicator, able to collaborate with team members on solutions and keep project managers up to date on progress and setbacks.

You'll be conscientious, seeking out responsibility and taking a share of ownership in the quality of the wider project, not just your tasks.

Essential skills and experience

  • Commercial experience of creating web-apps, ideally using PHP, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS

  • Great client-facing and internal communication skills, written and verbal
  • A commitment to learning, developing and sharing knowledge

  • Experience of Agile methodology (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Experience of using our preferred tools - JIRA, Harvest, Slack
  • Agency experience
  • Experience of using web frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, Django, Flask, React, Angular.js, Vue.js or Node,js
  • Experience of Test- and Behaviour-Driven Development (TDD/BDD)
